Infrastructure Work

There will be work occurring over the next few weeks to update our wastewater infrastructure.  Some of the roads will be blocked for a few days at a time as the work is completed.  Thank you for your patience.

Spring Clean Up

The Village of Champion will be accepting wood and yard waste for the next two normal Thursday garbage days.  Please put out your wood or yard waste when you put out your garbage on either Thursday, May 4th or Thursday May 11th.

Sidewalk Levelling – Starting Saturday Apr 29

A crew will be in Champion this Saturday April 29th 2017 to begin levelling the sidewalks.  The work should take about 3 to 4 days to complete.  This is part of a summer project to level or replace all of the residential sidewalks.

March 28, 2017 Public Meeting Viability Review

There will be a Village of Champion Viability Review Public Meeting held:

Doors will open at 5:45pm

Road Work Notice

Please be aware the Public Works will be doing road work from Monday November 7th to Wednesday, November 30th to facilitate some routine infrastructure maintenance.  There will be some holes marked with pylons so please be cautious when driving.

Sanitary Line Maintenance

On Thursday and Friday of this week there will be regular maintenance done on Champion’s sanitary lines.   You will see our crews out conducting an annual sanitary line flush.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

 

VILLAGE OF CHAMPION

IN THE PROVINCE OF ALBERTA

PROPOSED BYLAW NO. 2016-004

 

To be held at 6:00 p.m. – Monday, November 7th, 2016

Village of Champion Council Chambers

PURSUANT to sections 230, 606 and 692 of the Municipal Government Act, Revised Statutes of Alberta 2000, Chapter M-26, as amended, the Council of the Village of Champion in the Province of Alberta hereby gives notice of its intention to consider Bylaw No. 2016-004, being the Village of Champion Land Use Bylaw.

THE PURPOSE of proposed Bylaw No. 2016-004 is to:

  • update and establish standards and processes regarding the use and development of land within the municipality;
  • address new development guidelines for certain types of uses within the Village;
  • incorporate new land use district standards and uses;
  • amend the existing Land Use District Map to reflect land use designations; and
  • comply with the provisions of the Municipal Government Act, Revised Statutes of Alberta 2000, Chapter M-26, as amended.

 

THEREFORE, TAKE NOTICE THAT a public hearing to consider the proposed Bylaw No. 2016-004 will be held in the Village of Champion Council Chambers at 6:00 p.m. on November 7th, 2016.

 

AND FURTHER TAKE NOTICE THAT anyone wishing to make a presentation regarding the proposed bylaw should, in writing, notify the Chief Administrative Officer of their intention prior to 1:00 p.m. on November 4, 2016.

 

AND FURTHER TAKE NOTICE THAT both written and verbal presentations may be made to council at the public hearing.

 

AND FURTHER TAKE NOTICE THAT a copy of the proposed bylaw may be inspected at the Village of Champion office during normal business hours.
